But really, I like the power that it can have - when it's used for good. It isn't always, but I don't want to talk about that. I want to share another blog post with you that really touched my heart.
The Power of Kindness
To me this isn't some story about things that happened to other people. I've been shown kindnesses by my Internet friends too. - When I was on bed rest with Emily - When I got divorced - When I broke my ankle. There are many more.
And I've seen it firsthand and participated in it too. Gathering around a friend who lost her husband, helping a struggling single mom...the list goes on and on.
This sloth just happens to love that social media and technology can be used for more than posting about bacon and cheetos and storm videos. I've seen so many wonderful things happen and I am glad that I have the opportunity to take part in it - even if it is nothing more than offering encouragement to a friend in need.
Do some Internet goodness today, won't you?
I've also been touched by kindness from "internet" friends - but I don't call them that, I just call them friends. Mwah!
ReplyDeleteMore than I can say, I have relied on my "internet friends" more than RLF. I think I would be lost without you!
ReplyDeleteLovely post, my friend.
ReplyDeleteI love telling people how our mom's group members are so different in our selves and our lifestyles, having in common only that we all have a kiddo born in or near July 1998.. yet we have been topgether and there for each other for over 13 years now! Some of us having met IRL and others, not.. really feel like I know my board sisters. How amazing is that social media/ technology/ INTERNET rocks!!
