I'm Not Eavesdropping. I Just Don't Own an Ipod.

It wouldn't be nice to trip a pregnant woman would it?  Especially one who is due to give birth any day? (Although, she may appreciate the jostling if it would help put her in labor).

There's a lady who goes to the gym that I go to who is very, very pregnant.  Let me just say that just days from delivery, she could still kick my ass any day of the week, so we'll remember this is all for fun. :-)

I don't know her.  I don't even know her name.  I think she works there, though.  She's often on the elliptical trainer behind the bicycle I am on.  (If you've ever been on one of those monstrosities, that should tell you enough right there).   She's probably going faster on that thing than I am on the bike at top speed.  And she's talking.  And she's 10 months pregnant.  I secretly hate her.

It's really funny to hear first time moms (hey Jenn, no apostrophe!) talk about their expectations for labor and losing baby weight.  Generally, they are in for a HUGE surprise.  Weren't we all?  However, I'm pretty sure this lady will probably be like, "What?  That was nothing!" and be in her pre-pregnancy jeans before she leaves the hospital.

I sent this text to my sister (Hey, I was doing interval training, it was a rest period).  "She  said she's gained 26 pounds.  I may push her down."    I seem to remember with one of my kids, leaving the hospital weighing two pounds MORE than I did before I gave birth.    I'm one of THOSE people.  Yes, the rest of us.

I guess the important thing is that I finished my bike ride (4.82 miles/30 minutes today! woot!) and did my crunches and drank my water - and that's what *I* can do - probably 15 years older and 4 kids up on her.

Oh and my ankle *and* knee are feeling pretty good.  Maybe next week I can run!

And I really do wish her the best of luck - the feeling of becoming a mom for the first time (or any subsequent time) cannot be equaled, no matter what your experience.
